  • Half teaspoon crushed Garlic
  • Half teaspoon Turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 2-3 curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon Bharat Khichdi Masala
  • Salt as required

  1. Prepare the Base: Heat ghee or oil in a pressure cooker. Add jeera, green chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté until fragrant.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: Add chopped onion and crushed garlic to the cooker. Sauté until the onions turn translucent and garlic is fragrant.
  3. Add Dal and Rice: Add washed Toor dal and rice to the cooker. Stir well to combine with the sautéed onions and garlic.
  4. Introduce Vegetables and Spices: Add diced potato, diced tomato, peanuts, turmeric powder, salt, and Bharat Khichdi Masala to the cooker. Mix everything together thoroughly.
  5. Pressure Cook: Pour water into the cooker according to your desired consistency. Close the lid and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles, or until the dal and rice are cooked thoroughly.
  6. Serve Hot: Once done, carefully open the pressure cooker. Give the khichdi a gentle stir. Serve hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves if desired.
  7. Pro Tip for Enhance Flavor: For added richness, drizzle some ghee over the hot khichdi just before serving.
